Microsoft issues emergency fix for Windows

In the last 24 hours it may have been brought to your attention that a security bug exists affecting millions of processors. Blue Logic are fully aware of the situation and are in communication with Microsoft.

Microsoft has confirmed all bug fixes will be covered by the monthly patch cycles and patches will be applied through your Windows updates. For anyone who has updates pending we strongly advise you apply these updates as soon as possible.

Microsoft has pushed out an emergency fix for Windows 10 users which should be automatically installed. Users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 will have to wait until next week for Microsoft to issue a patch.

This is an industry-wide issue and Microsoft have been working closely with chip manufacturers to develop and test mitigations to protect customers against vulnerabilities affecting supported hardware chips from Intel, ARM and AMD.

Microsoft has been working closely with software partners to ensure all customers receive the January Windows security updates as soon as possible. We are monitoring this closely and patches are still being tested by some vendors.
